    In January of 2025, UAA Chancellor Sean Parnell announced his intent to retire at the end of the spring 2025 semester. UA President Pat Pitney has named an interim chancellor to lead UAA upon Chancellor Parnell's retirement, and convened a search committee to guide the search for UAA's next permanent Chancellor.

    University of Alaska President Pat Pitney has announced the launch of a national search for the next chancellor of the University of Alaska Fairbanks, the flagship research institution of the 91麻豆天美 system.

    University of Alaska President Pitney Announces UAA Chancellor Finalists

    President Pat Pitney announced that she has selected four finalists in the search for the next Chancellor of UAA. Each finalist will visit the Anchorage campus between September 8 and September 18, 2025, engaging with the UAA community through two days of meetings, tours and open forum events.

    The UAA Chancellor Search Committee met on Aug. 7 and recommended finalists to President Pitney. The finalists will be announced following President Pitney's review.
